CYC has 2 holiday centres for youth groups. They offer self-catering venues for any type of group activities including training, holidays, nature study trips, outdour education etc. All necessities are provided, but bring your own sleeping bag.

Teach Chaoimhin and Teach Lorcain are situated in the beautiful and peaceful valley of Glendasan near Glendalough. Both houses are reserved for prayer, retreats and spiritual development purposes only. Teach Chaoimhin will accommodate 22 people and Teach Lorcain sleeps 23.
Our Centres are: * Open All year * Centrally Heated * Have pillows and duvets supplied * Sole occupancy Sleeping in bunk beds * Fully equipped kitchen * Centres are booked from evening to mid-day unless otherwise agreed * All centres have showers.
Please Note
As there are no wardens in our centres, group leaders are responsible for the supervision, safety etc of the group as well as providing their own programme. Groups must have adequate Public Liability Insurance cover. All adults/leaders accompanying those under 18 must have completed Child Protection Training before they can use our centres.
Catholic Youth Care Booking Conditions for Glendalough Houses
Insurance: It is the responsibility of the group booking the house, to ensure that they have insurance cover. CYC Affiliated Groups will normally be covered for Public Liability. If in doubt, please check when booking. Groups not affiliated to CYC should consult an insurance company or broker. The CYC premises are insured for CYC liability only.
Child Protection: Those who work with and for young people have a duty to care and an obligation to observe a code of good youth work practice.
Times: Day bookings Arrival time: not before 9.00a.m. Departure time: before 6.00p.m.
Overnight bookings
Arrival: not before 5.00p.m. Departure: before 12.00 noon
You Need To Bring: Personal baggage, eg. change of clothes, rainwear, soap, towel etc. Sleeping bags Food supplies Torch and first aid kit Matches and Fuel for indoor fires Table games/cards (in case of bad weather)
Keys: The keys can be obtained from the Catholic Youth Care offices at Arran Quay, Dublin 7. (Telephone Number 01 872 5055)
On Arrival: • Check that all equipment is in order. • Particular attention should be made of the fire extinguishers which are there for your safety. • Any damage done or fire extinguishers stolen or discharged will have to be paid for by your group. Sleeping Accommodation: Teach Lorcain 4, 4, 4, 2, 4, 2, 2, and 1. Total 23 Teach Chaoimhin 8, 8 and 6. Total 22
While There: • At all times, please take special care for the safety and comfort of your group. We ask that your group respect our neighbours, their livestock and their property. • Alcohol and Smoking is not allowed on the premises. • Fires are not permitted on the grounds around the houses (per Coillte Teoranta)
On Departure: • Wash and dry all crockery, cutlery etc • Clean all floors, toilets and sinks • Deposit all rubbish from both inside and outside house in the skip at Teach Lorcain. • Turn-off all electrical and gas appliances and all lights. • Lock all external doors and windows. • List and report any damages when returning the keys to CYC.
Directions: On entering the village of Glendalough, you will pass the Heritage Park and the Glendalough Hotel on your left. Just after the hotel, the road turns left over a bridge and then right. After the bridge, there is a small car park on your right. After about 100 meters, take the next turn on the right and follow this forest lane for one mile.

Rate: Midweek rate: The rate per day is €200 plus €150 per each additional day. Weekend rate: The rate per day is €250 plus €150 per each additional day.
